Type Locality and Naming

VRIDHACHALAM OUTCROP: Named after Aladi village, Vridhachalam area, TamilNadu. Type locality = Only in water wells at Aladi village.

Lithology and Thickness

Sandy Claystone. Shale and siltstone with interbeds of cemented sandstone, grainstone (calcarenite) and coquina limestone. This is equivalent to Kallankurichchi Fm (Sundaram et al., 2001).
